Find out about Feed in Tariffs, PV and Sun Switch from one of our customers
Roger Kitchen, one of our customers who had a solar PV system installed in January, made this excellent short video about feed in tariff and the installation of his Sun Switch system. Thank you very much Roger!

Install solar panels and get paid for saving energy : Directgov - Newsroom
Some new figures from the Government’s Directgov website on the numbers of PV installations:
People across the UK are rapidly installing solar panels and making money for saving energy.
The government introduced ‘Feed-in Tariffs’ or FITS at the beginning of April. Since then, the uptake of solar panel installations registered with the scheme has increased every month.
According to figures recorded by FITS administrator Ofgem, 412 installations were made in the first month. And in the following months this has increased to 944 in May, 1,406 in June, 1,751 in July and 3,642 in August.

I received a cheque today from my energy supplier for nearly £500. This represents my first feed-in tariff income and is just for a single three-month period.
My meter today is showing that my PV system has generated just over 1600 units since installation on 3rd March.
This amount is 75% of my projected output for a full year, so I am significantly ahead of the projection. With several more cheques like this one, my payback will be less than 10 years.
Am I happy? Of course I am.

Great news: my solar PV system has now generated more than 1000 units of free electricity since 3rd March.
It is averaging 10.4 units per day, even with the this weeks’ poor weather.
My next official meter read will be on 1st July. The reading on this day will determine how much I have generated since 1st April, and therefore the value of my first quarterly cheque.
